A good omelet is a simple yet elegant dish that is suitable for both very a casual, or a more formal dining atmosphere. They are easy to make – yet many people still seem to have difficulty in creating the perfect omelet.
A good pan is essential. Teflon or cast iron or steel are all fine – but use one with sloped sides.
Also the timing of when to add the eggs to the pan is essential to creating that masterpiece. Use butter that is heated to a high temperature but add the eggs before the butter starts to turn brown.
